GREYHOUND ATHLETICS
The middle school athletic experience is, for the most part, the first interscholastic experience for students, and the initial opportunity for a student to represent his or her school in interscholastic competition. While many students experience athletics through community youth sports programs, middle school athletics offer the first chance to play against a team from a neighboring school, offering a new and unique opportunity.
Middle School Athletic Announcements
All Middle School sports will begin practice on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Athletes will meet their coaches in the Middle School gym at the close of the school day and should bring sneakers and workout clothes. Soccer players should bring shin guards if they have them. Field hockey players should bring shin guards and sticks if they have them. The coaches will review any special equipment needs. Coaches will also review who has been cleared to practice on the basis of physicals that have been turned in and reviewed by our school doctor.
The practices this week will be until approximately 5:00 pm and students will take the 5:20 bus home.
Please mark your calendars for September 15 at 6 pm. There will be a Celebrate the Fall Season event in the Middle School Gymnasium. The teams will be introduced and team pictures will be taken. All players must attend and parents are strongly encouraged to attend as well.
